1 -3D printers take (% class="mark" %)##.gcode##(%%) files as input. The purpose of the slicing is to convert your 3d model (commonly in (% class="mark" %)##.stl##(%%) format) into (% class="mark" %)##.gcode##(%%) that the 3D printer can understand.
